Customize Advanced Internet Settings

To access:

From the Toolbox on the navigation panel, click Speed Up and then click Customize Advanced Internet Settings.

What it does:

The Customize Advanced Internet Settings window allows advanced users and system administrators to edit internet and network settings.

Why use it:

This tool can help the power user achieve the most efficient Internet speeds. You can modify advanced network settings and experiment with different configurations for testing.

Instructions:

From this screen you may Set iolo Recommended, allowing System Mechanic to optimize your Internet settings with a single click. You can also restore Windows default or your original Internet settings at the time System Mechanic was installed.

To individually manipulate your Internet settings click the down arrow for each setting to see a list of options. You may always revert to iolo’s recommended settings if you disrupt your broadband quality by adjusting a setting in a way that is not optimal.

In the case of the Maximum Transfer Unit (MTU), Max SYN Retransmissions and Initial RTO settings, you can type a value in the box or use the slider to change the value.

Clicking on the bolded dropdown arrows at the far right of the NetBooster Advanced Settings window will make visible more information about each setting.

When you are finished making adjustments, click Apply, then OK. To instead opt out of any changes you’ve made, click Cancel.

Note: When you commit any changes, you will be notified that your Internet connection will be reset before System Mechanic applies the desired changes. System Mechanic must refresh your Internet connection to ensure that the changes take effect. Any internet connected applications may lose connectivity at this time, and you may have to log back in to services like VPN or chat.
