Deceptive and Unwanted Programs Remover

To access:

From the Toolbox on the navigation panel, click Protect and then click Deceptive and Unwanted Programs Remover.

What it does:

Scans for nuisance software (Potentially Unwanted Programs, or PUPs) that you might not have intended to install, and helps you easily remove it.

Why use it:

Adware, fake trialware, dubious “cleaners” and scareware are just some types of PUPs that can drastically slow down your computer, or worse.

Instructions:

Once you click on the feature, a scan for PUPs automatically starts. If PUPs are found, follow the onscreen instructions to complete the uninstall process.
