To access:
Under Security on the navigation bar, click Anti-malware.
What it does:
The Anti-malware pane provides information about the status of your anti-malware protection and, if you are using System Mechanic Pro or System Mechanic Ultimate Defense, the anti-malware software System Shield allows you to scan for malware, update virus definitions and enable real-time protection.
Why use it:
Protection from viruses and spyware is vital to secure Internet activity, and staying informed about the status of this protection is essential to safe computing.
Click Refresh anti-malware status for the most up-to-date info on your malware protection.
System Shield is integrated into System Mechanic Pro and System Mechanic Ultimate Defense for seamless updates and configurations. You can view a snapshot of the status and access all the functions in the program.
Under Maintain System Shield, simply click on the corresponding buttons for the functions you wish to enable/disable. You may also scan your entire system to check for malware, or scan a specific folder or file by clicking on the down arrow to the right of the Scan now button.
Choose Configure System Shield Settings to customize precisely how System Shield scans for and quarantines malware. Refer to the Settings section of this Help file to learn more about configuring System Shield’s settings.
The View Quarantine tab allows you to see which, if any, files have been quarantined by System Shield. Items in quarantine should be reviewed and purged frequently.
The View History tab displays a list of scans, thwarted threats and updates to System Shield for your review. Click the down arrow to the right of the blue button to change how far back you wish to view the history.
